Dren’s practice focuses on criminal, regulatory and related civil litigation proceedings. Dren completed his articles at a boutique law firm in the Vernon area and was called to the British Columbia Bar in September 2021.
Prior to joining Nicholas Jacob, Barrister and Solicitor as an associate lawyer, Dren received his J.D. from Robson Hall at the University of Manitoba in 2019. While at law school Dren served as a junior editor with the Canadian Journal of Human Rights and as a research assistant under Prof. Mary Shariff in assisting her with her research on the topic of substitute decision-making authorities for non-competent adults in France. He also served as a volunteer basketball coach with the Spence Neighbourhood Association for impoverished youth residing in the Treaty 1 Territory.
Before attending law school Dren earned his B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of British Columbia (“UBC”). While at UBC Dren served as the Co-President of the UBC Prelaw Society interned with the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (“FRA”) in Vienna Austria and volunteered with Sweettalk - a nonprofit organization that aims at finding a cure for type-1 diabetes.
Dren is from Gjakovë Kosovo but grew up in Vancouver.
